This one is for all us in roto and compositors Shilhouettefx is shipping Shilouette ver 3 a huge update from previous versions. Some of the most notable updates are support for Stereoscopic workflows,Keyer,X-Splines,new Paint tools,new UI and a big one for me is the tracker now is using Planar tracking which is very different from a point tracker. Point tracking like in AE,Motion ,Shake etc it is very easy to loose your track with a point tracker in difficult situations foreground objects coming close to background plates can cause a mess ,Planar tracking avoids this by tracking planes and not specific points .Nodelocked Licenses can now be transfered to different machines by using a deactivation process so going between your tower and laptop is easy. There are so many new features its hard to pinpoint just one.
The price is great at $995 for the and the upgrades are a steal if you had a previous version from about $195 to $395 depending on if it was the standalone or plug in from AE/FCP . Also to note there is a free plug in provided for Import/Export allowing you to take Shilouette shapes to AE masks and taking AE masks to Shilouette shapes.Check out the demo and site here Shilouette v3.
