In case you didn’t know, here is another new feature in Leopard that can be incredibly useful at times. It’s not limited to Final Cut Pro, but I’ll use that as an example for obvious reasons. If you are looking for a command in an application you can type it on the spotlight bubble in the HELP command window. Once you do this the application will reveal the location of the command within the various command windows. It points it out with a nice large blue-arrow.
Pretty useful when dealing with an application you aren’t familiar with or when looking for a command you don’t perform often enough to remember.
The Palm Os utilities pCam and pCine, developed by David Eubank some years ago will eventually make their way to iPhone. I emailed David last week and he said that he is currently “interviewing engineers and waiting for Apple’s release of the SDK for iPhone.”
This is great news and an extremely useful tool for ACs and DPs alike. It would be great if it remained a free app, though I wouldn’t cry if it wasn’t.
Now if we can get the guys over at sunpath to do the same or even Sunpredictor (made by John Wheeler, ASC) to cross platform to the iPhone.

Sony finally released a plug in for FCP to allow editing of M2T files from the HVR-D60 recording unit and CF card as part of the HVR-Z7U camera. This software allows you to transfer the movie files on your HVR-DR60 or CF card to your Windows-based PC with ease. It can connect M2T files, that were divided by FAT32, back together*, and it will rename HVR-DR60 files to the same style as those from a CF card during transfer.*The destination folder needs to be formatted in the NTFS file. Phun is a Master of Science Theises by Computing Science student Emil Ernerfeldt for supervisor Kenneth Bodin at VRLab, Umeå University. The solver is based on work by Claude Lacoursière
Phun is meant to be a playground where people can be creative. It can also be used as an educational tool to learn about physics concepts such as restitution and friction.
Phun was coded in C++ using OpenGL, GLEW, SDL (for window management), SDL_image (for reading images) and boost, including boost_filesystem. Everything was coded by me, including the physics engine and user interface.
This is the coolest thing since sliced bread and fun it is. Now would Apple /Adobe please work with these guys for either Motion 4 or AE CS4 . Just a small request from me.
