iPhone Update on the Horizon
Nathan BeamanI recently became a member of the iPhone club. The phone itself has a few issues - ie. It’s frozen on me a half dozen times this week, the battery hasn’t lasted a full day, its chokes once in and while and everything slows to a halt, the web is about half speed compared to my Blackberry - I still love it though. On the other end ATT just plain sucks - mainly in clarity and ability to get reception period - oh and when someone sends me an MMS I have to log into ATT’s special little multimedia center to check the message. What a pain.
I do wish that you could copy and paste on the phone. The ability to recognize embedded media would be a plus as well. Flash compatibility has been widely demanded and talked about, though I’m not sure when that will happen. Quicktime 7.3 has disabled quicktime/flash compatibility - this makes me think we may have to wait a bit longer for flash on the iphone.
Before I picked up my iPhone last weekend, I was well aware that the latest and greatest version is close - but I needed a new phone and couldn’t wait any longer. I wish I could, I always will, but sometimes you just gotta have it. Here is an article from Macworld that claims new iPhone in ‘08. Many sources have leaked details and alluded to release dates for the updated phone. Most things point to the week of Feb 5th.
